Get rid of Search Marquis

When I open up a new tab, I get redirected to a search marquis website. I do not know how it got here or how to get rid of it. In my settings google is my default. Whenever, I search it online it tells me to install software to remove it. Just want it gone and running like it used to. I appreciate any and all help.

Hello JaFi13 and welcome to Apple Support Communities.

I see you are having an issue with some malware called Search Marquis on a Mac.

As the malware is already present, the best way to get rid of it is a tool called Malwarebytes.
