Cannot Access local IP Address

Hi,

I have an NVR connected via a LAN cable to a wifi access point, but cannot access the login page via the iMac (no matter what browser I use: Safari, Firefox, Opera, Brave (all most recent iterations)).

However, I can access the NVR login page via the same wifi point when using either an iPhone X and an iPad Pro 10.5 from (iOS and macOS latest releases).

Both Firefox and Brave display a little exclamation mark next to the address and when clicked display "an open padlock with a red line through it followed by "connection not secure".

Given until recently I could access the NVR via any of these browsers on the iMac I am at a loss as to how to proceed.

Please advise.

Kind Regards

Hi BDAqua

Many thanks for the reply. The SecuritySpy link certainly looks helpful and if I cannot find out why Catalina or the browsers are blocking the connection to the Hikvision then it's appears to be a viable alternative.

But as I was able to access the configuration page of the NVR via the iMac web browsers, yet now I can't, the question now stands how do I make the connection secure?

For instance I have a Qnap NAS unit which I can access from the iMac with any browser; let's say Safari. There is a padlock next to the IP address which when clicked it tells me Safari is using an encrypted connection to the IP address of the NAS and provides an option to show a certificate.

Here is a screenshot.

This leads me to believe I need one for the NVR.

I thought the Mac would create one as it has done for the Qnap and web sites I visit (look at the padlock in the address field of this page and click it, there is a certificate) but in this case hasn't for the NVR.

So how do I get the Mac to do that?

Thanks again.

Kind Regards

There is nothing under the Privacy tab that bears any resemblance to HikVision or the software that one can download from the manufacturer's site in this case SADPTool (this should help find the NVR unit on one's LAN (but not in this case)).

IP Address, Subnet Mask, default Gateway are all correct for the unit.

I think this is more of a Keychain Access type of problem.
