Sony Headphones- WH-H900N keep stopping when playing anything. Apple cannot resolve

Has anyone else had problems getting these to work with an Iphone. My husband and I each have the same headset. Headsets work beautifully on my Iphone but not my husband's I phone. Apple engineers have yet to resolve this issue despite continuous efforts for 3 weeks.

We are stuck with a headset that is fine so can't return to Sony but as it will not play correctly on my husband's iphone it is useless.
