I cannot seem to access the divide symbol or / when I'm in Numbers?

The same 'transformation' occurs in multiplication sentences. From the keyboard, you enter A2*B2 in the Formula Editor, and the Mac replaces the multiplication operator ( * ) with the multiplication sign ( × ). This replacement seems to cause less puzzlement among users seeing it for the first time than does the / —> ÷ one, likely due to the lower probability of visually mistaking it for a different operator or symbol, even in the tiny type of the Formula Editor.


Note, though, that the multiplication sign is not a lower case x ( × is not x ).
