Filter unknown senders not working

Just to make sure we're on the same page, are these iMessages (blue bubbles) or are they SMS messages (green bubbles)? I ask as this is an important distinction because this feature only filters out iMessage-based items rather than both or just SMS-based messages. Check out the specifics of what is and isn't filtered in Filter and block messages on iPhone.

I also have the spam messages arriving in my inbox and are gray in color. The "filter unknown senders" does not filter them to the other tab.

I'm having the same issue as Ilnvaz. In my case, the message is neither blue or green - it's gray.
