Refurbished iphone

A phone refurbished by Apple will have a F as the first character of the serial number. One refurbished by an Apple-authorized refurbisher will usually begin with a digit. One refurbished by a fly-by-night shop will have a stolen serial number.

Then buy a new phone from an authorized retailer or directly from Apple.
