iPhone 11 Is Less Than A Year Old...Why Can't I Get AppleCare+?

So my iPhone 11 is less than a year old and I wanted to see how much it would cost to add AppleCare+. Right now, it's operating on a limited warranty provided by my mobile carrier. That will expire in December. I entered my serial number to check AppleCare+ prices and it said my phone wasn't eligible for protection...why is that?

Because AppleCare Plus needs to be purchased within 60 days of initial purchase of the device.
