News in English, trending in French

Found the fix. Launch News app; tap following in bottom right corner; tap history & clear. When I went back to trending news it was in English.

Clearing News History and a reboot fixed it. Thanks Kahayden

That fix worked for me (clearing the history)

Perhaps the “Canadian” settings got mixed up in the code with last update. Just like when one flags a keyboard as Canadian it turns into French characters. BTW Removing and adding the widget did not fix it.

I have the same problem -- just showed up over the past couple days. My iPhone X is set to English, my appleid language is set to English -- I can't find any more settings to change. I tried the fix above (removing and re-adding the News widget) and it didn't work.

I'm in Canada too, so that makes sense. Come to think of it, the problem only arose after I performed the last iOS update. Will the Apple team be paying attention to this discussion.

Following... have the same issue. Reboot, update, Confirmed language, removed/readded widget all to no avail. Seems to have been a problem last year. Im in Canada also. Apple please fix!!

I must be an idiot. I don’t understand your instructions. Tap following? Where is that? I open the News app and don’t see any such thing.
