My News widget is in english but the trending news is in French. Iphone 11, newest update, deleting the app, restarting and reinstalling the app did not work. Region and language are all correct.
Found the fix. Launch News app; tap following in bottom right corner; tap history & clear. When I went back to trending news it was in English.
I figured it out. Sorry to bother anyone.

Thank you but that worked for a minute for me, switched to English and now back to French again! How strange
My Solution: My location and language (Canada, Canadian English) were already set correctly in Settings. However I tapped ‘Canadian English’ again. Received prompt to change to Canadian English. I confirmed. Went back to Trending and suddenly all my articles refreshed to English.
