Space bar not working properly on iPad Pro 2020 with magic keyboard

Space bar not working properly on iPad Pro 11 inch 2020 with magic keyboard. (Got the iPad Pro and the keyboard 2 weeks ago.

example: while writing on a document on pages

1. I press on the space bar and it highlights

Documents on the top menu

2 I press on the space bar again it goes to search on finder for pages documents

3 I press on the space bar again and

it actually works as space

not sure if it related but but if I press system preferences the column on the left is highlighted as if I’m using short cuts on the keyboard instead of touch
