You can try reinstalling your existing OS over itself. Follow this support article for more help: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204416


If you want to check for malicious software, many people here recommend Malwarebytes.


Whichever you choose, erase and restore, or a reinstall, please be sure to make a full backup of your current hard drive. (Either with Time Machine, or a different service of your choosing.)
