ipad will not power on

my ipad will not power on despite trying all the recommended steps. i have plugged it into charge both to wall outlet and computer. it gives no response whatsoever. i tried to arrange to have it shipped for repair. however, "find my ipad" must be turned off. i can't turn off that feature if i can't turn on the device. i've already tried apple support via phone who recommended to bring it in. no area stores accept appointments right now. any advice?

First, connect your iPad to your Power Adapter (charger) - and allow to charge; an hour or so should be good.

Next, whilst still connected to the Power Adapter, do one of the following:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On an iPad with Face ID: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

If your iPad still doesn’t turn on, or if it gets stuck during start up, see the Apple Support article If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t turn on or is frozen.
