Dolby Vision and AppleTV 4K

I have a Sony OLED (2019) that supports Dolby Vision. Also, an AppleTV 4K. At this point I’m using an Onkyo receiver that does not support Dolby Vision (2016). So when I go into the AppleTV video settings there is an option to check everything and see if HDR is supported and it is. Never see an option for Dolby Vision but the Apple website talks about it and I’ve seen YouTube videos showing Dolby Vision as an option on the AppleTV video menu. I don’t see it and I assume that’s due to the older Onkyo not supporting Dolby Vision. So, my question is that if I replace the receiver with one that supports Dolby Vision I should get the Dolby Vision option on the AppleTV? Also, is watching an AppleTV movie in Dolby Vision a better experience? I have no way to tell.
