iPhone locked

I started a claim with Assurant in which I believed my iPhone was lost. I only got as far as submitting my iPhones IMEI number and then found my phone.Now my phone is locked. It has reset and prompts me to set up my iPhone before giving ,e an error message that the iPhone was reported lost or stolen. I’ve contacted Assurant and they’ve stated there is no claim found for my phone. I’ve spoken to my provider and they stated my account isn’t locked with them. And finally I spoke with Apple who give me the run around. Is there any way to recover my iPhone?

Locate a lost or stolen device - Apple Support


If you activate Mark As Lost the missing device is remotely locked. If you have Apple Pay set up on the device, it is disabled. A confirmation email is sent to the primary email address associated with your Apple ID. When you recover your device, you will need to unlock it with your passcode.


After you erase a device, you can't track it. If you remove the device from your account after you erase it, Activation Lock will be turned off. This allows another person to turn on and use your device.
