macbook pro 10.5.5 external monitor crash

Hi,

I have MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017)

3,1 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7

Radeon Pro 560

When plug it into external monitor through thunderbolt it crashes. The fans not working anymore and ther is no keyboard or trackapd. I can only turn off via power button long press.

The problem was not been before 10.5.5 update.

Regards.

Laszlo

  1. Please reboot in Safe Mode to check if you have same issue : https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Note: Safe mode prevents your Mac from loading certain software as it starts up, including login items, system extensions not required by macOS, and fonts not installed by macOS. It also does a basic check of your startup disk, similar to using First Aid in Disk Utility. And it deletes some system caches, including font caches and the kernel cache, which are automatically created again as needed.

2. Test check if "automatic graphics switching" resolves your issue.

3. Apple Diagnostics Test : https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202731
