Record level and input grey out in Garage Band

My specs:

MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017)

Mac OS 10.15.5

Garageband 10.3.4

Headphone: Sony wh-1000xm3

I have selected the input from System Preferences > Sound > Input

and selected my headphone from Garage Band > System Preferences > Input Device

But the record level and the input selection the headphone are grey out

The warning window "No input source selected" when I want to start record (no issue with output)

My headphone is working well with other sound editor (Audacity)

No issue with built-in mic record, but just not working with my headphone (bluetooth).

Microphone is enable in Security & Privacy > GarageBand.

Help, please

Hey there CliffPhoon,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand you’re having issues using your headphones as an input for GarageBand. I’ll be happy to help with this.

If you change the Output Device in GarageBand > Preferences > Audio/MIDI, does this have any impact on the issue? If not, do you have a way to directly connect your headset to your Mac? Bluetooth isn’t listed as one of the options for connecting a mic for use. Take a look at this article for more info:

GarageBand for Mac: Connect a microphone

Take care.
