Why is my wife's name on my Apple ID account?

I have ID and passwords for my personal account and another I use for all other Apple functions on my Computer, AppStore, etc. under Apple ID which shows when I log in, password and security is in my own name and I use my password to sign in to my account. However I notice that on the Apple ID screen it has my wife's name right under the graphic in the upper left of the Apple ID screen. She has a separate log in account. But Under Password & Security it says "Apple ID: myname.email. Why does it have my wife's name under the circular icon on the left? Under that her name is myname.email. I need to get these things straightened out before I can get a iCloud account.
