I just bought a new 2020 13inch MacBook Pro, safari seems to be running slow in some instances. Could it be that I need to download Adobe Flash player? I had it on my last Mac but not sure if I require it on Catalina?
Is there any advantage in me downloading flash player?

Whatever the reason for your Mac's poor performance cannot possibly be related to Adobe Flash Player, a product for which all support will end in a few short months. Do not install it.

You only need Flash Player if you want to play Flash video. Most sites no longer use Flash.
