Issues Installing High Sierra iMac 2011 from Recover Mode
When I logged into my computer, I had several error messages dealing with the keychain. I restarted my Mac and it immediately - and after several additional attempts, only restarted in recovery mode.
The startup volume in disk utility was greyed out as if unmounted. I erased the volume, which remounted it. I attempted to restore from a Time Machine backup but received the common error message that directed me to install Mac OS High Sierra. There wasn't enough space on the volume after attempting to the restore, so I found that I needed to erase the Parent Disk. I did so in the default settings, with Mac Extended (Journaled) and GUID.
Every time I attempt to install Mac OS High Sierra, the log throws several errors immediately:
Target Disk cannot be converted to APFS...
No Native Mechanism...
Could not verify...
I've tried reseting the PRAM, uninstalling my upgraded RAM, tried starting up in Safe Mode - all to no avail.
What can I do to get Mac OS installed? Is this a sign that my HD is completely corrupted?
