So I recently found an Apple Watch. However, it won’t allow me to do anything. For example, I can’t create a password, I can’t shut it off normally (like hold down the button and slide it off. I have to hold the crown and the side button to power off), I can’t connect to Wifi, and I can’t reset it. I don’t know what to do. My friend thinks someone may have stolen it from the display case.
You definitely have someone else's Watch and it is most likely Activation Locked, which prevents the watch from being used by anyone else. Activation Lock is to prevent anyone from using someone else's Apple device, whether lost or stolen.
Unless the owner releases the Activation Lock, it is useless to you. No one, including Apple, can help you use the watch.
