MacBook Sound

My MacBook sound is not working. It says there is no output device found in system preferences. How do I fix this?

Easy enough to fix, grizel112. Hold down the Option key and click on the speaker icon at the top right of your screen. You will see all available sound inputs and outputs. Also if you go to system preferences, and then "sound" and click on effects, you should see "Play Through......" and from there you can pick a sound output. You can also try poking around in Audio MIDI setup in case something has gone amiss. should be 44 khz, etc, and not 96 khz which the Mac can't usually play.

Other than that, try resetting the smc/pmu and zapping pram
