Lid slightly opens

I just had my MacBook Air 2020 for about a week now and is it normal that the lid slightly opens when I am holding it sideways or turned over (when wiping) ? Thanks.

Lid opening automatically Its not been a month since i bought the macbook air 2020. I have noticed after some days the lid opens automatically. Feels like the magnets doesn't have enough power. MacBook Air M1 lid opens up when placed vertically So my MacBook Air M1 delivered to me 3 days back considering I am posting this question today plus bought it from apple official online store , so the problem I have been facing since the day it arrived is that when I keep my Mac in a laptop bag it stays vertical at 90 degrees when I was to take it out of bag the lid was quite open and I rechecked it the same happened every time ,the screen lid slightly opens up every time I keep it vertically I guess there is some issue with hinge or magnet don't know and moreover my lid didn't open with with one hand (which I think is normal please correct me if I am wrong). please guys enlighten me with what could have possibly gone wrong with this device and suggestions to get this resolved . Your replies will be appreciated thank you

One of my family members has a 2 days old 2020 MacBook Air. I tried to duplicate your "Slightly Open" lid theory. I could not duplicate it. In my experiment, the Lid remained fully closed and maintained contact with the sides and edges.

If your issue bothers you then get it exchanged before the 14 days exchange period is over.
