Are dowloads and uploads interrupted by sleep mode?

I have a brand now Macbook Pro, and I left it to download files before I went to bed. When I woke up, nothing had happened, not one file - zero, zip. How can I get the machine to keep working while I sleep?

Do I need to disable the 'sleep mode' - so it never sleeps and keeps downloading all night?

Or, must I sit with it and monitor every single folder and file I grab from the cloud?

Help - it's a brand new machine with Catalina - I updated it as soon as I took it out of the box.

Hey Daerice,

I see that you have some questions about sleep mode on your Mac and I'd like to help!

There are several options under the Energy Saver preferences that you can adjust to your needs. These settings and more information can be found on the article here: Use the Energy Saver settings on your Mac

Try setting up some of these settings and see how it goes. If you have any issues even after setting up your Energy Saver settings or have any additional questions, let us know!

Warm regards.
