MacBook Pro battery indicator flashes on and off when I try to charge (also doesn't charge)

Hi all, the battery indicator on my MacBook Pro keeps flashing between the "charging" and "no charging" icons when I have it plugged into my charger. Ultimately, its not charging. USB-C power adapter and cable look fine, and battery status on the laptop says it's "normal." Any recommendations for next steps?
