Email attachments become annotated and I am unable to click on them.

I have had this issue multiple times on my iPad and iPhone...I receive an email attachment, and then after opening it, it becomes simply “text.” There is no way to click on it and open the file again. I recently was able to get around this and thought this might help someone else with the same issue.

I opened my email on the gmail site (or whatever service you use). I did not use the Apple mail app. The files opened fine, but I did not get the option to “save to files.” Options were very limited. I then emailed it to myself and was able to open it perfectly and save to files.
