You really can't as you don't know which photos will be hoses for the collage or multiple photo slide.
The only themes that respect your order and original editing size are the Classic and Ken Burns.
You might need to provide more details about OS and Photos versions to get really detailed advice. In the meantime, you mentioned collage images, which suggests you're not starting from the 'All Photos' view. When I edit photos, e.g. by cropping, from this view then create a Slideshow, the show reflects all the changes I have made.
If you start with one of the automatic amalgamated views, the cropping is not alterable manually.
(I have Photos 5 on Catalina, so yours might be different.)

I imagine you should do all the editing before adding them to the Slideshow. (And please don't shout ;-) )
I did not mean to shout. : ) My photos have been edited, but when then on the slideshow they are cropped differently. So, I guess, the correct question is how do I crop or choose collage images vs. single image for the slideshow?
