New iPad Air keeps restarting

Just got a new iPad Air, fully charged it, and went through the set process. Now, the device keeps restarting on its own every minute or so. It burned through the battery overnight doing this. I've done multiple forced restarts and installed the latest software update trying to troubleshoot the problem, but no luck. Any suggestions?
