As you know, we cannot speculate here about actions Apple may or may not take in the future.

The iPad Air 2 was released by Apple in 2014 and discontinued in 2017.

Apple does not announce end of support for devices until it arrives. That is once an iOS version being released can no longer be installed on a particular device Apple will no longer include that device in the list of supported devices.

As of now, the iPad Air 2 is supported. Whether it will be able to install iOS 14 in the fall, is unknown. There's a good chance it may not. But until Apple discloses the supported devices, we cannot know. We'll probably find out in the Virtual WWDC set for June 22nd what devices will be officially supported on iOS 14.

Chances are all iPads that were eligible for iPadOS 13 will probably be eligible for iPadOS 14, as Apple has stated in the recent past that iPadOS 14 will be more of a maintenance/optimisation/bug fix upgrade than an upgrade that will add any new iOS/iPadOS features.
