SE iPhone data transfer

I am transferring data from my 1st gen SE phone to a new arrival SE phone.

How long should the data transfer take from iphone to iphone?

My transfer has been at it for over 45 minutes.

I have two concerns that may be making this transfer slow or not working:

The new phone keeps going to sleep.
I tried update the ios software 13.5.1 during the transfer

Transfer can take a while, but the iOS update was a really bad idea. Wipe the new SE and start from scratch, or better just make an encrypted iTunes backup of the old one and restore it to the new one.

Why don't you backup old iPhone to iCloud, and use backup on new iPhone SE2.

A lot depends on how much data needs to be transferred and the strength of your wifi connection, so yes it can take longer than 45 minutes.
