What have you tired in an effort to cure this ?

Does Messages Work to send iMessages ?

Try resetting the NVRAM

This clears some memory items on the computer that cannot be reset in other ways nor by a simple Restart/Start Up.

DO you have an iPhone that can FaceTime on your LAN ? (WiFi not Carrier signal based.)
