A Tortoise Would Have More Speed Than My New iPad Air
I recently bought an Apple iPad Air and it is now that slow connecting to the internet that I can hardly bear to use it. My ISP is BT and the package I'm on is Fiber 1 with a guaranteed speed of 28 Mbps..I ran a speed test yesterday on an old PC with Windows 10 it returned results of just below 29Mbps.
However when I ran a speed test on my iPad and iPhone (same time, same place) I couldn't get above 4.4Mbps, yes that's right 4 point 4, there has got to be wrong there somewhere. It even went as low as 0.5 !
I've cleared the cache, turned both iPad and iPhone off and on again but that's about the height of my knowledge.
What is confusing me though is that on my Windows 10 laptop I was getting the speed I expected and last night I was watching Netflix and iPlayer with no problems whatsoever, all in the same room and within 4 meters of the router with no blockages. There are no other users in the house and the wi-fi is locked
Any suggestions as to what the problem is?
