Apple pencil not working

I have an iPad Air (3rd generation) and I've been working with my apple pencil for about 4 months.

Last night my ipad required an update and I haven't been able to connect my apple pencil after that. I have tried connecting the apple pencil to another iPad (iPad Pro) and it works well so I've figured it out it's just my iPad. I turned it on and off and still can't pair it with my iPad, I also charged the apple pencil for about 40 min. My bluetooth keyboard also works well, but I don't see the "Apple pencil" bluetooth option anywhere. Does anyone know what else can I do?
