when installing a new software, the pop-up window of the installer doesn't allow me to click either options, they are just greyed out as soon as I hover over them.
Any hints or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Preferences->Security&Privacy->Privacy->Camera. If the iGlasses app is present, tick the checkbox to allow camera access. If your app is not present then the iGlasses app is not properly coded to comply with Catalina's new, stricter security protocols. You will need to take this up with the developer of the iGlasses app.
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the iGlasses screenshot is only there as an example. True for any Software that "needs" something. even this morning Teams wanted access to the microphone. I couldn't.
Assuming you have administrator privileges the next step would be to create a new account on your machine, then launch one of the apps in question from that account and try to activate the microphone from that new account. If it works that means your current account has something corrupted.
Again thanks for the hints. Being a long time Mac user I also created a new user, on different machines in fact, but still I cannot click any buttons. They just “deactivate” themselves when I come near to any of them.
Well, that's certainly not expected behavior, especially on different machines. There must be something common, like a configuration, preventing this. It's not Catalina itself because there simply aren't many, if any, reports of the same behavior out there and I'm certainly not experiencing this. You might try a Google search for those with the same problem and see if there are/were any solutions. I'm sorry I was not able to help.
Quick update, having to give masterclasses I have a curser enhancement software. This software acts as a second graphics layer that "takes precedent" on the lower layers. Hence the disappearing clickable buttons.
