How can I play music from iPods on my iMac now? I used to be able to play music stored on my iPods and iPhone via iTunes. The 'Music' application on the iMac doesn't appear to have this functionality. Other than using the Audio MIDI Setup, and Quicktime option, is there a way to play the contents of the external devices now? Ideally one that allows me to select the music to be played from my iMac rather than the external device?

Cable from the headphone jack to line in on the stereo.

Just to add, there are also external USB DACs you can use. Receivers that accept Bluetooth and/or WiFi connections, etc.
