How can you have multiple page layouts in the same Pages document?

Hi warlordjc,

Just a thought. Do you want both Portrait and Landscape layouts in the same document? That is not possible in Pages.

All I can suggest is to export a page to PDF, open it in Preview app and rotate it. Then copy and paste into your Pages document. That page will be an image and you won't be able to edit the image in Pages.

More information on your overall aim will help your fellow users in this forum to find a solution.

Regards,

Ian.

Hello warlordjc,

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities about adding pages in a Pages document.

This article has different options: Add, rearrange, and delete pages in Pages on Mac - Apple Support

"In word-processing documents, new pages are added automatically as your typing reaches the end of a page. You can also add new pages manually. In page layout documents, you can only add pages manually."

Also mentions:

  • "In a word-processing document: Place the insertion point where you want the new page to appear, then click  in the toolbar. A blank page is added after the insertion point.
  • In a page layout document: Click anywhere in the page you want the new page to follow, then click in the toolbar. A blank page is automatically added. If there are other master pages for the template, choose the one you want to add."

Cheers.

Hi jc,

Pages has two types of document, Word Processing and Page Layout. Which are you using?

To find out, look at the Convert to… item in the File menu. The item will always let you convert to the other type:

This screen shot was taken in a Word Processing document.

How do you want the various page layouts to differ?

Barry
