Screen shift to white tint - MacBook Pro 16" 2019

My screen will snap from normal to a few shades lighter (blacks will look the same, so just the midtones will lighten). This would happen randomly if i plugged an HDMI cable in, but also happened randomly to my laptop screen. I found a solution/work around on my own, but nothing was on line so I'm putting this here.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 10.15

Going to apple > system preferences > Displays > toggle the "True Tone" selection and the screen will snap back to normal.
