payment page won't let me enter any credit card number

I tried to type in my credit card number and it didn't work. It wouldn't take any input. I'm on Chrome 83

What I did to fix it is I right click the credit card field, click 'inspect' change 'maxlength' from 0 to 16, then it worked. Customers should not have to edit html to add payment information.
