Macbook air 2012 a1466 stopped booting

Hello,

After unplugging my macbook air from charging it would not boot properly. It would boot to a black screen as if it were off, the backlight and apple logo on the case would not turn on. Along with this the keyboard, trackpad and wifi do not work. I was able to connect a external monitor and keyboard/mouse to navigate the os but it was really slow i downgraded to high sierra but that did not fix the problem. I am unsure if this is a hardware or software problem.

Sounds like hardware: How to use Apple Hardware Test on your Mac. See if you get an error. I'd guess the display is the issue.

Make an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar for service after the stores re-open. If you need to find an Apple Store - Find a Store - Apple. Also, see How to find your nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) or Distributor (AAD). You may also get Apple authorized service at a local Best Buy.
