SanDisk Extreme SSD with iOS and iPadOS
Has anyone had trouble with this combo? I'm using Apple Lightning USB camera adapter 3 and formatted in xFat. Drive works fine on Mac, but doesn't show up on iOS.

Hello,
iPadOS 13 supports the following disk formats with a GUID partition scheme:
*iPadOS 13 supports solid state devices formatted as FAT32 such as a SD card. iPadOS 13 does not supports mechanical hard disks formatted as FAT32.
** iPadOS 13 supports disks formatted as exFAT as long as it was formatted with Disk Utility on a Macintosh. The disk cannot be formatted by Windows.

Yep. Did that. Still not working. That works for other drives and the Sandisk works other places...just can't seem to get them to communicate EXCEPT through a powered USB hub. I've seen people use these SSDs with the adapter plugged into the iPhone/iPad with the SSD and lightning power cord in the other end.
Thank you for your reply. I tried all of the options you listed that didn't say NO, but still no dice. Other things I can try?
With Lightning connector/port equipped iPads, running iPadOS, you need to supply external power to that adapter to use with any external drive connected to these iPads.
