my phone is not backing up to the icloud

I am trying to transfer my info from and IPHone 5s to an Iphone 6s plus. I am unable to back up the 5s to icloud. the progress bar does not move.

iCloud My iPhone isn’t backing up after several attempts, it starts to back up and takes forever and then in the end says unable to back up iPhone. I’m trying to set my new iPhone up so wanted my current phone to back up so I can transfer everything over. How do I get it to work?

How much free storage do you have on your iCloud?

Are you connected to a reliable and fast wifi network?
