How can I disable shift-scrolling

When I hold down shift and scroll on a mouse with a scroll wheel, it scrolls left and right. I want to disable this feature as it causes problems in some games. I'm using a Logitech G602 without the Logitech software installed, the only configuration for the mouse is the built-in MacOS mouse preferences. I'm running MacOS Catalina 10.15.5. I have searched the web but there doesn't seem to be a solution to this.

Hi Old Toad, thanks for responding, apologies for not getting back sooner. In Preferences > Mouse I can change the scrolling direction, tracking speed, scrolling speed, double-click speed and select either the left or right mouse button to be the primary mouse button. I don't have an option for mouse gestures, this probably only appears when using a Magic Mouse, I'm using a traditional mouse with a scroll wheel.

That's probably why you don't have the additional mouse controls. The old Magic Mouses roller wheel is problematic in that it wears and begins to slip. We have one but couldn't get it to work reliably even with vigorous cleaning of the ball with alcohol, etc. My wife begrudgingly gave up the old mouse and is using the wireless mouse now.
