Going round in circles trying to authorise an album I've paid for that won't play on my iMac or transfer to my iPhone

I'm literally going round in circles trying to authorise an album I've paid on the iTunes Store that won't play on my iMac or transfer to my iPhone. When I hit play on the iTunes Store or on my own iTunes music library I get the following:I enter all my details and then I get:

When I hit play..hey presto I get the same window I started with:

How do I get out of this cycle that obviously isn't working?

Hello richardesigner,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

I understand from your question that you are unable to authorize your computer. I can certainly help you with this!

This article will be a good resource for you. It will walk you through the necessary steps to resolve the question.

Authorise or deauthorise your computer for iTunes Store purchases

"Get help

  • Learn what to do if your computer keeps asking you to authorise when you try to play your content.
  • You can deauthorise all computers once per year.
  • If you don't see Account in the menu bar at the top of your computer screen or the top of the Music app or iTunes window, check your Restrictions. You might have access to the iTunes Store turned off."

I hope this is able to resolve your issue. If you have any more questions or this does not resolve your issue, please reach back out on the thread!

Cheers.

Hi Chris,

I resolved the problem. The tracks themselves were not from Apple iTunes (although on the Music store it showed the tracks as 'Play' and not with a price). I bought and downloaded the correct tracks. After a few problems with duplicate tracks. What is that all about? One with a cloud symbol and one without. I deleted the duplicate track and then it was sorted.
