MacBook Pro 2012 & bluetooth

I am having the same problem. I can't figure out how to connect a bluetooth speaker to my laptop (MacBook Pro retina 15-inch mid-2014). When I go to System Preferences and click on Bluetooth, it lizets the speaker I am trying top connect to, ssays it is not connected, and then just gives me the spinning hash marks like it is trying to connect. The speaker is in the same room with me. How can I connect the speawker (JBL ND0031 -- about 2.5" X 3")?

Were the Speakers ever paired to something else & still looking for what they were paired to?

 I needed to make restart by pressing - and Bluetooth icon for 5 - 10 second. After this everything worked fine.

What are you trying to connect?

In Sys Prefs>Bluetooth, can you click on turn Bluetooth on?
