Deceased loved one’s iPad
My father passed away very suddenly in March and he had numerous electronic devices, all of which are useless to the family right now. I want to use his iPad but can’t get in without his password. How can this be done?

Apple will help you, if you take a copy of your father's death certificate and something from the estate granting you ownership rights to the iPad.

Recovering the passcode isn’t possible if it’s unknown or forgotten, but with the AppleID and associated password it should be possible for a close relative (who possesses the appropriate knowledge) to reset and reuse the iPad.
The reset will erase any locally stored data on the iPad, but if it’s synchronised to iCloud, the data can be restored to the iPad.
