I need to set up Apple Pay but I can’t due to my card issuer not allowing me. Can you help?

No. If the card issuer does not support Apple Pay, you can not use that card in Apple Pay.

Then call your bank back. They are the ones who said it wasn't supported.
But my colleague has the same card/same account/ same bank and they supported that
