Question

Fan at 0

Hi, why is my fan at 0 (MacBook Pro 2020)? Is it normal for it not to run?? It does turn on sometimes but idle shows 0rpm, I tried diagnostics and there seems to be no problem, reset smc

Hello Karina,

The fans on your MacBook Pro only come on when needed. If your MacBook Pro gets hot and reaches a certain temperature then the fan will come on to cool it and the processor down. If your MacBook Pro does not get warm enough then the fan(s) remain off.

Thanks for answering!

I was a little confused because I read somewhere the fan should always run, like at least at 1200. And it got to that point once I reset smc, but then went back to 0.
