My son dropped the iPhone in water and now it's not working

Hello

Last year i bought a XS Max I phone for my wife. My son accidentally drop the phone in a water, now phone is not working. Do i have any warranty or protection. All pictures and videos are gone, we can not open the phone.

warranty only really covers production defects discovered after purchase not user handling

apple care+ is an extended moving into insurance type of warranty apple allow people to purchase up to after 60days after purchase of the product

Buy an AppleCare plan - Apple Support

if you bought that you may have some options
