If I change my sim card will I loose all my data

I have a iPhone SE. My provider, Virgin media, have sent me a new sim card , I did not ask for it. If I use the new card how can I ensure my data will not be lost?

iPhone SE, iOS 12

Hi,

You wont lose any data, by changing the sim card. Always back up your phone regularly.

SIM cards DO NOT contain any data. Everything is stored inside your iPhone.
