Factory reset install OS issue error 8

Restored my 2018 iMac and tried reinstalling Catalina OS through utility. keeps coming up with error 8 but my wifi is operating fine and smoothly. since the mac was restored it has no memory and no OS. so what steps can i take to fix the install. im selling this iMac today.

iMac 27″, macOS 10.13

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. We understand you are having problems reinstalling macOS. Let's follow the steps and recommendations in the links we've shared below.


First let's have you restart the Mac and try to reinstall the macOS again.



If you still have issues, try with a wired connection to your router, instead of using Wi-Fi and see if you are able to reinstall then.
