Mail Crashes In High Sierra

For the last few months my Mail app has been crashing on a daily basis. Usually does not crash upon opening (though that has happened). It can crash while I have an email opened or when I am not doing anything at all in Mail. There seems to be no pattern. Below I have attached the EtreCheck Report as well as the crash report (broken into 3 parts because it is so long).

Had High Sierra for at least 6 months before that with no issues. I have 3 mail accounts... one is iCloud (IMAP) and the other two are earthlink (POP). I have my earthlink emails automatically forward to the iCloud address, as I am getting rid of the earthlink accounts soon and will only have the iCloud account.

A few things that happened right around the time Mail started crashing... I started working from home and had to add Outlook mail as well as an app called Citrix Workspace to my MacBook Pro (11.4). Outlook was not accessed through my Mail app however, but through office.com. I also added the anti-virus suite by Intego (before that was using the free version of Avast).

I see through other forum discussions that others have had the same issue with Mail crashing in High Sierra, but don't see any common answer or solution. Below are the reports. I'd appreciate any helpful ideas. I am no computer wiz so am at a loss as to what I should be doing to solve this issue.

Thanks,

Mike

Uninstall Intego per their directions then run etrecheck again to see what chaff it left.

Delete this file & rstart...

~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.adobe.ARM.***.plist

~ tilde indicates hidden Home Library.

Apple hid the Users' Library folders...

Method 1:

  1. From the Finder, select the Go menu at top of the screen, and choose Go to Folder.
  2. In the window that opens, enter ~/Library, and click Go.

Method 2:

  1. Go to the Finder (or desktop).
  2. Hold the Option key on your keyboard, and click the Go menu at the top of the screen.
  3. With the Go menu open, you'll notice that pressing and releasing Option will display or hide the Library choice in this menu.

4 Select Library from the Go menu (while holding down Option) to access the hidden folder.

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

If still no good Disconnect from the Internet, then start Mail, look for the last rec'd eMail.

Quit Mail & login to your WebMail in a Browser, if possible delete any later eMails there after the last rec'd one on the Mac.

HI BDAqua,

I went into Safe Mode but my Mail did not connect to servers while in Safe Mode, so I exited.

Deleted this file... ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.adobe.ARM.***.plist

Then uninstalled Intego... then restarted. Then created a new Etrecheck Report, which I've attached.

Mail continues to crash..

I also followed your last directions but did not find any emails in WebMail that were more recent than emails already in my Mail app.

Let me know if you have any other suggestions.

Thanks,

Mike
